Plexi settings 2025 - The Gear Page I know this has been done before, but I thought it would be better than necro an old thread to start a new one For those currently using a plexi amp live share your settings Speaker cab pickup data also welcome
Marshall Plexi or Silver Jubilee, which would you choose The YJM while plexi styled also has power scaling which is a cool bonus The Silver Jubilee always was my preference since it covered all those JCM 800 and Rock tones I covet The plexi tones usually required a lot more volume to get me to tend promised land The Jubilee with MV did it for me easier The YJM is another animal altogether
Can anyone explain sonic differences between JTM vs. Plexi? The plexi is a brighter more forward leaning tone with more strident highs and mids that help it cut and crunch quickly and less tighter bottom The JTM is warmer and can be muddy if you're not on top of the bass control (DOWN BOY like 2 or even off) but generally has a warmer clean tone
Marshall 1959SLP RI (HW and Non-HW) Infatuation - The Gear Page The Marshall plexi amplifier was reissued for the first time in 1988 (the 1959S), and from 1991 to 1993 (the 1959X) and from 1993 to 1995 (the 1959 SLP) In 2005, Marshall introduced the 1959 HW based on the 1967–1969 models, with negative feedback added corresponding to the 1969 model
That “boxy” Marshall plexi sound - The Gear Page The regular Plexi Bright model in Helix can sound compressed and mid-range heavy You could try backing off the "sag" control to help with the feel You could also try backing down the master volume a bit to see if that helps Another thing to try would be to use the Park 75 model as that sounds more open to me
